
Pedro Vicente Michelotto Júnior
DVM MSc PhD CA CVBMA, Full Professor at the School of Medicine and Life Sciences of the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUCPR), Brazil
Pedro Vicente Michelotto is a veterinarian graduated from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), where he also earned a Master’s degree in Veterinary Sciences and a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology. He completed postgraduate training in Acupuncture at the Brazilian College of Systemic Studies (2002) and obtained certification in the Balance Method from Chi University, Florida, USA (2023). He is a Full Professor at the School of Medicine and Life Sciences of the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUCPR), where he teaches in the Veterinary Medicine undergraduate program and supervises Master’s and Doctoral students in the Graduate Program in Animal Science. Throughout his career, he has supervised more than 80 research projects across undergraduate, Master’s, and Doctoral levels. His work is dedicated to equine health, with a particular focus on equine respiratory diagnosis, including the cytological analysis of respiratory fluids such as tracheal wash and bronchoalveolar lavage, as well as integrative approaches such as acupuncture.
