Dr. Mary Christopher is Professor Emerita at the University of California-Davis, where she served as Laboratory Chief and Vice-Chair of the Department. She received her DVM at Iowa State University; completed her residency, PhD, and NIH postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Minnesota; and is board-certified in clinical pathology. She has ~120 peer-reviewed publications on red cells and anemia, diagnostic and wildlife clinical pathology, education, and scientific writing and reporting. She has received several national teaching and service awards and was a US Fulbright Scholar. She is a past-president of the ISACP. Dr. Christopher was Editor-in-Chief of Veterinary Clinical Pathology and founding Chief Editor of Frontiers in Veterinary Science. She co-authored Writing for Publication in Veterinary Medicine and has taught courses and workshops on scientific writing around the world. She served as Chair of the NIH National Library of Medicine MEDLINE Committee and consults on journal indexing for PubMed.
